The lockable gas spring is a special piston/valve system, which makes it possible to differentiate the two pressure chamber pressures, allowing easy variable locking. If the valve lifter is released from the outside and the communication between the pressure chamber is interrupted, the gas spring will hold the heavy load securely locked in the desired position. As the valve opens, with a linear spring characteristic curve, the gas lock spring will provide a more increased force over the entire range of motion.
